Position Summary
We are seeking a Security Engineer to join our clientโ€™s Cyber Defense team in a unique hybrid role combining cybersecurity operations, security awareness, and internal security advocacy. This position is ideal for a cybersecurity generalist who has broad exposure across multiple security domains and enjoys translating technical concepts into business-friendly messaging. You will support cybersecurity initiatives while also helping drive cybersecurity awareness and engagement across the organization. We are looking for someone with strong foundational knowledge across several security disciplines and exceptional communication skills.
Responsibilities
Cybersecurity Engineering & Operations
  • Support day-to-day cybersecurity operations and internal initiatives
  • Assist with implementation, administration, and optimization of security tools
  • Participate in security-related projects across endpoint, email, network, and infrastructure environments
  • Work alongside Cyber Defense leadership to support strategic initiatives
Security Awareness & Cyber Evangelism
  • Develop and deliver cybersecurity awareness campaigns
  • Create short educational content including presentations, videos, webinars, and internal communications
  • Help employees understand cybersecurity concepts through practical examples and storytelling
  • Promote a cybersecurity-first culture across the business
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Translate technical security concepts into business language
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and leadership teams
  • Support company-wide security education efforts

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of cybersecurity experience
  • Broad understanding across multiple cybersecurity domains, including Endpoint Security, Email Security, Network Security, DNS Security, Server Security, SIEM concepts, Security monitoring platforms, etc.
  • Experience supporting security operations and working within security tools
  • Comfortable presenting and communicating to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Comfortable being visible across the organization
  • Collaborative, adaptable, and curious
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain security concepts simply and effectively

Preferred Technical Experience
  • Experience or exposure to cyber security tools to include Microsoft Defender Suite, Azure Sentinel, Proofpoint, OpenDNS, Azure security ecosystem, or any similar tools
