Job description

Summary/Objective

Proactively patrolling by engaging and identifying opportunities to provide service/assistance. Security Associates are trained to assess and quickly identify need(s) and resolve or request partnership with external resources such as law enforcement, EMS, etc. Mustang associates receive comprehensive training on a wide range of methodologies including patrol techniques, de-escalation practices, first aid, critical incident response and crisis intervention.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct excellent guest service by providing direction or offering assistance in a proactive manner; tactfully advise guests of property policies, safety infractions and code of conduct matters
  • Conduct thorough patrols and provide presence by bicycle, on foot, or occasionally by golf cart
  • Complete regular security checks of doors, windows, gates, mechanical rooms, fire exits as requested by the client or to guard against trespassers or unauthorized entry
  • Establish relationships with external resources (police, fire department or EMS). Act as primary point of contact and assist upon arrival to property
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of incident documentation and report writing
  • Daily maintenance and safety checks of company issued equipment (bike, golf cart, phone, radio). Accountable for reporting identified issues or deficiencies in equipment
  • Attendance and completion of all training modules


Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to obtain State of Texas Level II Non-Commissioned Officer certification

  • Flex B 1600-2400
  • Power 1800-0200
  • C shift 2200-0600

PT associates will primarily need to be available to work all shifts.


Number of hours worked per week on average

  • PT associate avg 24 hours a week minimum

90% of shift is on bicycle

  • Carts available for patrol triggered by weather conditions.

Training

  • Approx. 32 hours of guard shadowing training during first week of onboarding.
  • Approx 6 to 8 hours of training with SM or DOS dependent on certification needs of new associate (Level II certified or not).
  • OJT is ongoing and will be monitored by Mustang leadership as the associate progresses in his/her role.
