Job description

Summary:
Under the direction of site leadership, the Security & Loss Prevention Associate is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the safety and security of the facility and surrounding campus. This role supports company security practices, protects assets, and provides a high level of customer service to associates, visitors, and vendors.
Schedule: Monday 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM; Thursday - Saturday 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM
Pay: $20.00/hour + $1.00 shift differential
Essential Functions:
  • Monitor and maintain the safety and security of the campus, including buildings and surrounding grounds.
  • Conduct routine patrols to identify and address safety or security risks.
  • Deter unauthorized access and enforce access control procedures for buildings and restricted areas.
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and irregular activities, including fire or safety hazards.
  • Deter criminal activity and escalate incidents in accordance with company procedures.
  • Provide customer service by assisting associates, visitors, and contractors with directions and inquiries.
  • Maintain control of facility entry points using established admitting procedures and visitor protocols.
  • Represent BGDC Distribution in a professional manner at all times.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with associates, clients, and vendors.
  • Complete administrative responsibilities including safety inspections, incident reports, and daily, weekly, and monthly security reporting.
  • Support safety and security audits and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and company objectives.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in security, law enforcement, or military environment required.
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations while maintaining control of the environment.
  • Experience utilizing surveillance systems, monitoring equipment, and access control logs.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, security systems, and visitor management tools.

Education & Certifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
