Job Purpose:
- To provide friendly, efficient, and accurate service to customers while processing transactions, maintaining the checkout area, and supporting the overall store operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Limited or no prior experience

- Works under close supervision
- Focused on learning POS systems, basic procedures, and customer service.

- Basic procedures and customer service and still developing speed

- Communication skills.
- Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service.
- Scan and process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, and other forms of payment.
- Issue receipts and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Bag or package customer purchases as needed.
- Answer customer inquiries and provide assistance with product selection.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
- Stock and replenish supplies at the checkout counter.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and security.
- Assist with other store tasks as assigned, such as stocking shelves or cleaning.
- Resolve customer complaints and escalate issues to management when necessary.
- Promote store promotions and loyalty programs.
- Maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.

Additional Duties: Management reserves the right to assign additional tasks as necessary to support store operations. Employees will be provided with proper training and protective equipment for any and all assigned tasks that require special handling.

Preferred Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
- Cash handling experience preferred but not required.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Basic math skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to operate a cash register and other point-of-sale equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle transactions quickly and accurately.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
