Security Alarm Technician โ€“ Install and Program High-End Residential and Commercial Security Solutions

Job Overview
  • Company: Premier Technology Group.

  • Salary/Pay Rate: $25 - $30 per hour.

  • Location: Houston, TX.

  • Job/Employment Type: Full Time.

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday (with occasional on-call support).

  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Valid Security and/or Fire Installer License (Texas) and Valid Driverโ€™s License.

The Opportunity

You will be the primary technical expert ensuring the safety and peace of mind of our luxury residential and commercial clients. This role allows you to work with cutting-edge security hardware and cloud-based platforms while representing a company known for technical excellence. Your work will directly protect lives and property through the precise installation and programming of integrated security systems.

How You Will Make an Impact
  • Install and service comprehensive security systems, including intruder alarms, CCTV, and access control hardware.

  • Program advanced security panels such as Alarm.com, Honeywell, Interlogix, and DSC (PowerSeries & NEO) to meet client-specific needs.

  • Configure wireless systems including Qolsys and 2Gig to provide seamless, modern protection for high-end properties.

  • Execute precise low-voltage cabling tasks, including running, terminating, and labeling wires to ensure long-term system reliability.

  • Interpret complex wiring diagrams and architectural floorplans to determine optimal device placement and system architecture.

  • Document all installation and service activities accurately to maintain clear history for future maintenance and client support.

  • Educate clients on system operation and features, providing professional and respectful service during every site visit.

Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Active Texas Security and/or Fire Installer License.

  • Valid Driverโ€™s License with a clean driving record.

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).

  • 2+ years of recent experience in security system installation and service.

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting complex low-voltage electrical issues.

  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs., navigate ladders, and work comfortably in tight spaces.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Hands-on experience with commercial fire alarm systems.

  • Fundamental knowledge of IP networking and camera configuration.

  • Familiarity with integrated Audio/Video and smart home control systems.

  • Strong verbal communication skills and a professional, customer-focused appearance.
