What you will be doing
• Supervise, coach, and support Security Officers, providing direction, performance oversight, and guidance to ensure consistent service, professionalism, and compliance with hotel standards.
• Lead daily shift operations by conducting shift briefings, assigning posts and patrols, coordinating staffing needs, and communicating important operational and security updates.
• Oversee and support incident response and investigations, including emergency situations, guest concerns, safety incidents, and security violations, while ensuring proper documentation and escalation when necessary.
• Review and ensure completion of security operations, including patrols, inspections, officer reports, lost-and-found procedures, key control, and compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests, associates, visitors, and hotel assets through proactive security measures and regular property patrols.
• Monitor and respond to security and safety incidents, including emergencies, suspicious activity, disturbances, injuries, and guest concerns, using sound judgment and de-escalation techniques.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest areas, public spaces, parking facilities, restricted areas, doors, locks, emergency exits, and life-safety equipment to identify and address potential risks.
• Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV, alarms, access control systems, radios, and other security equipment to ensure property protection.
• Investigate incidents and document findings by gathering information, reviewing surveillance footage, interviewing involved parties, and preparing accurate, detailed reports.
• Provide exceptional guest service and operational support by assisting guests with directions and escorts, managing lost and found items, handling package deliveries, and supporting hotel operations as needed.
Position Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; previous supervisory or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, customer service, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to motivate teams, enforce policies, and maintain a positive guest experience.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure, make sound decisions, manage emergency situations, and hold team members accountable in a professional and respectful manner.
• Experience with incident response, investigations, CCTV monitoring, access control systems, emergency procedures, and report writing, including the ability to prepare and review accurate incident documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency and the ability to learn and utilize hotel and security technology systems; bilingual communication skills are a plus.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including second shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime as needed, while meeting the physical requirements of the role, including extended standing and walking, conducting patrols, climbing stairs, responding to emergencies, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
