Job description

Job brief

Applied Biotech Industries is hiring for a new entry-level role: helping our small team bring AI into every corner of our business. No prior full-time work experience required. What we need is someone with real hands-on AI fluency, whether it came from coursework, internships, jobs, personal projects, or experimentation. We care more about how well you use AI than where you learned it. Someone who uses AI to build, automate, and get things done, not just chat with it.

About ABI

At Applied Biotech Industries, we put microbes to work solving real-world problems. We manufacture beneficial microbial products that help farmers improve crop production and help businesses break down and treat organic waste. We are a small company of fewer than ten people, but our products are used by customers around the world. There are no layers. You will report directly to the company president and general manager and pick off repetitive work across operations, marketing, logistics, and e-commerce, one automation at a time.

What you will do

Operations and logistics

  • Build automated shipping quotes
  • Automate inventory tracking and restocking
  • Connect AI to our warehouse management system

Marketing and content

  • Create marketing materials with AI design tools
  • Automate blog posts and social media content
  • Help automate and maintain our two websites on Webflow

Sales channels and compliance

  • Manage Amazon listings and restocking
  • Research raw material suppliers
  • Help prepare product registration documents for new countries

What we are looking for

  • Entry-level candidates from any field of study
  • Hands-on AI fluency: you have built, automated, researched, and designed real things with AI
  • Comfortable letting AI write scripts and automations even if you are not a programmer
  • Willing to document what you build and help teammates actually use it
  • Self-starter who can turn a vague problem into a working solution
  • Able to work on-site in Belgium, Wisconsin part of the week. Much of this job means understanding our warehouse, production, and shipping firsthand; remote flexibility grows as you learn the systems.

Helpful, but not required

  • Experience with Claude Cowork, Claude Code, or AI design tools
  • Building repeatable AI workflows or simple automations
  • Excel or Google Sheets, CSVs, APIs, or no-code automation tools
  • A bachelor's or associate's degree in any field; equivalent demonstrated ability is just as good

What we offer

  • $50,000 to $55,000 per year
  • Health insurance reimbursement, on top of salary
  • Hybrid schedule: on-site in Belgium, WI part of the week, remote the rest
  • Direct access to company leadership
  • Real input and control over what gets automated
  • A small company where your work is visible and the problems are real

How to apply

Along with your resume, submit a short writeup (half a page) describing one or two real things you have built or automated with AI. For each: the problem, the tools you used and why, what you personally did beyond accepting the first AI output, how you verified the result, and what you would improve if you did it again. A link to the actual thing is a bonus.

Applications without this writeup will not be considered.
