Job description

Summary 

The New Mexico Board of Regents is seeking an Administrative Officer to provide direct support to the Secretary to the Board of Regents. This individual will coordinate, oversee, and/or perform a wide variety of administrative and secretarial functions, and provide a point of contact for internal and external constituents in a work environment that requires confidentiality and professionalism.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Oversees and administers the day-to-day activities of the office; develops policies, procedures, and systems which ensure productive and efficient office operation.
  2. Provides support to the Secretary to the Board of Regents in problem solving, project planning and management, and development and execution of stated goals and objectives.
  3. Serves as a primary point of administrative contact and liaison with other offices, individuals, and external institutions and agencies on a range of specified issues; assists in organization and facilitation of meetings, conferences, and other special events, as directed.
  4. Anticipates, identifies and troubleshoots issues of concern or significance; exercises discretion to provide timely information and necessary updates across multiple stakeholders.
  5. Oversees the operation of office accounts, and plans and monitors expenditures; as appropriate, develops and/or coordinates budgets for the office and associated accounts.
  6. May oversee and administer the day-to-day activities of one or more specialized program initiatives for the unit, as assigned.
  7. Assists in the coordination, supervision, and completion of special projects, as appropriate.
  8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
