Senior Litigation Legal Secretary (Hybrid)

South Bay, Los Angeles (Hybrid)

$85,000–$100,000 base + overtime eligibility + benefits

Hybrid after onboarding A well-established South Bay insurance defense litigation firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Legal Secretary to support a high-volume defense practice. This is a traditional, hands-on legal secretary role for someone who takes ownership of calendaring, deadlines, and law and motion work and thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment. This position supports a tight-knit team of experienced attorneys handling complex general liability, public entity, and insurance defense matters from inception through trial.

What You Will Do
  • Own calendaring and statutory deadline management across a large, active caseload
  • Prepare and file pleadings, discovery, and motions in California state courts
  • Assist with law and motion work including motions to compel and summary judgment filings
  • Prepare tables of contents and authorities
  • Coordinate depositions, experts, hearings, and trial logistics
  • Manage filings, service, and court communications
  • Interface professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court clerks
  • Support trial, mediation, and arbitration preparation
What We Are Looking For
  • 5+ years of California insurance defense litigation experience
  • Prior experience as a litigation legal secretary in a law firm environment
  • Strong knowledge of California Code of Civil Procedure and litigation deadlines
  • Proven experience owning calendaring and docket management
  • Law and motion experience is required
  • High-volume desk experience preferred
  • Proficiency with ProLaw or comparable case management systems
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Adobe, and document formatting skills
  • Excellent grammar, spelling, and attention to detail
  • Reliable, organized, and comfortable working with multiple attorneys
