Job description

Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Contract (11 Weeks)

Location: Portland, Oregon 97216
Pay Rate: $801 – $913
Schedule: Day Shift (36 hours/week, 12-hour shifts)


Position Summary & Responsibilities
  • Provides direct patient care under RN supervision

  • Assists with ADLs: bathing, feeding, dressing, hygiene, positioning, mobility

  • Monitors and records vital signs (BP, pulse, etc.)

  • Reports patient status, changes, and concerns to RN

  • Assists with restorative care, restraints, and patient support devices

  • Supports unit flow with basic clerical and documentation tasks

  • Maintains patient safety and comfort across med/surg and stroke units

  • Works within staffing ratios (typically 1:4–1:5 days)

  • May float based on staffing needs

  • Uses EPIC for documentation and Omnicell for medication systems

  • Coordinates with interdisciplinary teams (pharmacy, phlebotomy, transport, unit secretary)


Facility Details
  • 44-bed med/surg unit (includes 8 stroke beds)

  • Support services available 24/7 (hospitalist, intensivist, pharmacy, phlebotomy)

  • Weekend coverage required every other weekend or 6 shifts per 6-week schedule


Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred

  • Active Oregon CNA certification required

  • Current BLS (AHA or equivalent) required

  • Prior CNA or patient care experience preferred


Organizational Requirement
  • Compliance with all required vaccinations as a condition of employment (medical/religious exemptions may apply)
