Job description

Berean Christian School is seeking a full-time Secondary Math Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This position teaches Geometry, Honors Geometry, Honors Statistics, Math for College Statistics, and Junior High Engineering, creating a rigorous and supportive learning environment that equips students for college, careers, and lifelong learning. The teacher collaborates with colleagues, maintains effective classroom management, integrates technology and hands-on learning where appropriate, and actively supports the mission and values of Berean Christian School.
Candidates must have a passion for serving God in the context of education. A relationship with Jesus Christ and viewing your teaching position as a ministry is essential. Berean Christian School is the largest ministry of Grace Fellowship, and as such candidates must be a regular attending member in good standing at a church of "like-faith". Job requirements: A Bachelor's degree is required. The teacher should have either a valid Teacher Certificate with appropriate endorsement(s), or other appropriate credentials if the teaching experience is from the private school sector. Teachers will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic and spiritual potential.
Specific responsibilities include:
  • Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Develop schemes of work and lessons plans;
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities;
  • Prepare a safe classroom environment for class activities and instruction;
  • Provide and expose students to a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities;
  • Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs;
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction;
  • Observe and evaluate students' performance and development;
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school;
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, and assessments in a timely manner;
  • Keep up-to-date records of grades, lesson plans, and assignments;
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to administration, colleagues, students and parents regarding student progress and student needs;
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in subject areas, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities;
  • Work together with grade level teams to plan student learning and progress;
  • Participate in professional development classes to stay abreast of teaching strategies and methods;
  • Live out faith in a way that facilitates discipleship, mentoring, and relationship building with students; and
  • All other duties as assigned by the BCS administration.
