The San Diego Unified School District accepts applications for the Designated Subjects Teachers at the secondary level on a continuous basis for regular full-time and part-time assignments. The Designated Subject Teacher Pool is for individuals who hold a designated subjects credential or who are eligible for a designated subjects credential and wish to teach a Career Technical Education course at a secondary school. Available subjects, also known as industry sectors, are: Arts, Media, and Entertainment Building and Construction Trades Business and Finance Education, Child Development, and Family Services Energy, Environment, and Utilities Engineering and Architecture Health Science and Medical Technology Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation Information and Communication Technologies Manufacturing and Product Development Marketing, Sales, and Service Requirements / Qualifications Credential Requirements A valid teaching credential in a specific industry sector.
Candidates eligible for a designated subjects credential may be considered. Please reference the State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing website for details (click here to view). If you have not applied for a California teaching credential, you must hold a Certificate of Clearance prior to applying for your credential.
