Position Title: Second Press Operator
Starting Pay: $28
General Purpose
Responsible for performing manual and machine tasks related to the setup, maintenance, and operation of sheet-fed offset presses to accurately produce products that meet customer specifications.
Essential Job Functions
โ€ข Operate various sheet-fed offset presses.
โ€ข Read and interpret work orders to determine setup specifications and instructions.
โ€ข Start machines and run trial sets to verify accuracy of machine setups.
โ€ข Observe and monitor press operations to detect malfunctions and determine required adjustments.
โ€ข Ensure image registration from unit to unit; run samples and make adjustments to maintain print quality and color settings in accordance with densitometer readings.
โ€ข Follow all standard operating procedures applicable to the job, position, and department.
โ€ข Perform routine adjustments during press runs to maintain quality throughout production.
โ€ข Complete assigned work effectively and within required timelines.
โ€ข Accurately follow all instructions.
โ€ข Maintain daily production records using specified forms.
โ€ข Record production data including time spent on specific tasks.
โ€ข Preserve and transfer customer artwork in clean, undamaged condition.
โ€ข Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
โ€ข Open machines and remove or replace damaged product using hand tools.
โ€ข Perform daily and monthly maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
โ€ข Five to seven years of printing experience required.
โ€ข Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
โ€ข Basic computer skills including data entry.
โ€ข Ability to perform intermediate arithmetic including decimals, fractions, ratios, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
โ€ข Ability to meet or pass mechanical aptitude testing or demonstrate mechanical aptitude through prior experience.
โ€ข Ability to pass color hue and color vision tests.
โ€ข Ability to read a ruler.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to perform accurate work.
โ€ข Effective decision-making skills.
โ€ข Strong time management and self-management skills.
โ€ข Willingness to work overtime as required; significant overtime may be needed during peak periods.
โ€ข Reliable attendance required.
โ€ข Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

The starting rate is $28 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location.
