POSITION PURPOSE:
The position of Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting is responsible for the preparation of financial and SEC reporting of CIM's public funds, under the supervision of the Manager or Director of Financial Reporting. The role requires strong independent judgment and discretion and operating with limited supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare required SEC filings, which include Forms 10-K, 10-Q, publicly filed supplementals, 8-K, and supporting schedules.
  • Work with asset financial services and portfolio oversight to prepare and analyze monthly portfolio metrics (real estate).
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly internal reporting for the senior leadership team.
  • Coordinate with investor relations, communications, general ledger accounting and portfolio management to ensure accuracy of quarterly earnings release materials, marketing materials and investor presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
  • Review asset level reporting prepared by asset level accountants.
  • Assist in technical accounting research related to the property application and disclosure of accounting pronouncements and SEC guidance.
  • Assist with real estate investment & debt schedules for valuations; prepare supporting cost & debt roll forwards.
  • Support the independent auditor through quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Drive data analytics and automation efforts to enhance reporting and streamline processes.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
  • College degree in accounting (BA or BS); MAcc or advanced degree a plus.
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in financial reporting or accounting or audit, or related roles. Ideally at least two years' public accounting experience and financial reporting.
  • Big 4 or other public accounting experience (preferred)
  • CPA (preferred)
