Fulltime, Year-Round (Daytime & Graveyard available)

Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking an alert, level-headed, and proactive Security Agent to provide highly visible foot and vehicle patrols in guest areas to prevent theft, vandalism, and malicious behavior. This role provides security for guests, employees, homeowners and resort assets year-round - investigating and documenting incidents, preserving evidence, and providing legal testimony when necessary.

This is a year-round security role covering both our winter and summer operating seasons, reporting to the Risk Manager.

Sugar Bowl Resort has been proudly independent for over 80 years and is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to "sunny California" since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts a like.

What You'll do:

Patrol & Security

Patrol resort property to safeguard the security and wellbeing of guests, employees, homeowners, and resort assets

Provide building and grounds security, protecting against theft, vandalism, and inappropriate behavior

Enforce Sugar Bowl policies and procedures

Incident Response & Reporting

Notify law enforcement of illegal activity and assist with investigations

Write and distribute detailed reports for all security incidents

Use nonviolent intervention techniques to diplomatically address disruptive, offensive, or inappropriate behavior, escorting individuals off property when necessary

Respond to all emergencies, urgent incidents, and reported matters with top priority, serving as the primary communication liaison to coordinate timely, effective response efforts

Guest & Team Support

Transport homeowners, guests, and staff via snow cat, ranger, snowmobile, or standard vehicle

Lend a hand to other departments as needed

Provide assistance to the public

Support ticket staff as requested with fraudulent pass use

General

Communicate via radio, cell phone, and email

Shovel snow as necessary

Work in an alpine environment, including winter snow and inclement weather

Physical Requirements

Ability to carry up to 50 lbs

Ability to patrol on foot and by vehicle for extended periods, including standing, walking, and climbing stairs

Ability to work in an alpine environment year-round, including exposure to snow, cold temperatures, and inclement winter weather

Ability to safely operate a snow cat, ranger, snowmobile, or standard vehicle

Ability to shovel snow and perform other physical tasks as needed

Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations, including physical intervention when necessary

Ability to work weekends, holidays, and variable shifts, including nights, consistent with resort security needs
