"Everything is Better in Person" Summary Objective Person County Government is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Part-Time Seasonal Scorekeeper to join the Recreation, Arts and Parks Department. This position plays an important role in supporting youth and adult athletic programs by ensuring games are accurately scored and timed. The Scorekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clear, accurate, and legible scorebook throughout each game while operating the game clock and ensuring both the scorebook and clock remain accurate.
This position works closely with officials, coaches, and department staff to help provide a fair and enjoyable game-day experience for participants and spectators. This position performs duties under close to general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and game rules. Ideal candidates are dependable, attentive to detail, able to remain focused in a fast-paced environment, and capable of maintaining accuracy under pressure.

Evenings 5:30 PM - 9:45 PM; Monday - Friday; some weekends This is a non-exempt position. Part-time employees cannot work more than 1000 hours per calendar year. Essential Functions The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class.
Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary. Arrive at the assigned site thirty minutes prior to start of game in order to prepare appropriate equipment. (Bleachers, clock, goals, etc.) Ensure playing facilities are clean before and after each game
This includes sweeping the gym floor, cleaning and furnishing bathrooms, parking lots, etc. Ensure all equipment is locked after games. Responsible for remaining at the assigned site until all responsibilities are completed.
Keep legible and accurate scorebook. Report to the supervisor any problems you may encounter. Responsible for working at all parks and recreation locations which may include Huck Sansbury, Longhurst, Olive Hill, Allensville, Hurdle Mills and Helena.
Must be able to work night and weekend schedules as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Knowledge of relevant rules of sports at which you will be keeping score or operating the clock.
Must be at least 16 years old or older. Special Certifications and Licenses None. Person County conducts pre-employment screening on candidates.
