Job description

Make History With Us: Become a Seasonal Experience Representative at Filoli!
Are you a natural connector who thrives in beautiful spaces? Filoli is looking for energetic, versatile, and friendly Experience Representatives to join our seasonal team from September 8th through January 2027. As the face of our estate, you'll be the heartbeat of the visitor experience-ensuring every guest leaves with a smile and a story to tell. At $26.00 per hour, this position is an incredible opportunity to interact with guests at our stunning Woodside property.
The Role: A Little Bit of Everything
No two days are the same at Filoli! In this multi-faceted role, you will rotate through our stunning House, lush Gardens, and bustling shops. Your mission? Exceptional service.
  • Guest Ambassadorship: Welcome visitors, provide wayfinding, and share the "magic" of Filoli through informal storytelling.
  • Retail & Sales: Help guests find the perfect keepsake in the Clock Tower Shop or Trailhead Store using our Square POS system.
  • Hospitality & Events: Support special events and rentals. If you're 21+, you might even find yourself behind the bar serving up refreshments!
  • Operational Support: From managing visitor flow to helping set up event equipment (like stanchions and signage), you keep the property running smoothly.
What We're Looking For
We value personality and passion as much as experience. If you are a proactive problem-solver who loves working with a diverse team, you'll fit right in.
  • The Basics: You can be a high school student or beyond! A valid Driver's License is highly recommended as there is no access to public transportation.
  • The Skills: Previous experience in retail, hospitality, or museums is a plus, but a great attitude is a must. You should be comfortable with basic tech (Windows/Google Apps).
  • The Values: We are deeply committed to Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI). We look for team members who view cultural differences as assets and treat every guest with dignity and warmth.
  • The Physicality: You'll be on your feet, walking our beautiful (and sometimes uneven) terrain, and should be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Schedule & Commitment
This is a seasonal position designed to fit into a busy life while meeting the needs of our vibrant estate.
  • Hours: Typically 8 to 20 hours per week.
  • Availability: We require a minimum of three days per week, which must include at least one weekend day.
  • Flexibility: While we provide schedules at least 2 weeks in advance, a little flexibility goes a long way when unexpected crowds arrive!

Why Filoli?
Filoli is more than a museum and garden; it's a community. You'll work in one of the most beautiful environments in California, develop high-level hospitality skills, and play a direct role in sustaining a racially equitable and inclusive organization.
Ready to join the team? Apply today - We can't wait to meet you!
