Job description

We are looking for skilled FOOD RUNNERS / EXPOS to join the Sunnyside team! The starting rate is $16.90/hr plus tips (The combined rate is up to $25-30/hour).

Availability requirements: We are especially looking for candidates with full time and weekend availability through the summer (ending September 30). Please have tentative start date and end date available during interview process.ย Must have at least three days of availability. At least two days of weekend availability is preferred (Friday-Sunday).

POSITION SUMMARY

Assist Servers in providing the highest level of quality and service to our guests by being responsible for all preparation, interaction and steps of service needed to exceed guest expectations in the restaurant.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in preparing restaurant for dining service.
  • Greet all guests and co-workers in a warm, personal, friendly manner.
  • Check that each plated is wiped and correctly garnished prior to leaving kitchen. Accountable for plates leaving the kitchen window.
  • Deliver food items to guestsโ€™ tables as ordered and within the appropriate time limits (hot food hot, cold food cold), describing each food item when placing them in front of the guests using deliver position number.
  • Check for proper condiments and utensils when approaching table to deliver food.
  • Assist guests with any requests or concerns and take action to correct any problems.
  • Follow T S protocol and inform manager on duty for all noted guest allergies.
  • Assist Service Team as needed by removing dishes and glasses from tables or counters throughout guestsโ€™ meal, and take them to kitchen for cleaning.
  • Keep clean kitchen pass out and Runner stations, regularly checking floor for debris.
  • Stock service areas with supplies such as plates, utensils, condiments, and to go items throughout service period.
  • Maintain awareness of current availability of food items throughout service period and communicate effectively with management and service team.
  • Take extra care to maintain the highest standard of cleanliness in each duty performed.
  • Must be dependable, report to work as scheduled and on time, and follow all policies regarding scheduling and attendance.
  • Work in a safe manner and report any safety concerns; personal, employee or guest injury.
  • Follow food safety program guidelines of handwashing, bare hands, hygiene and health.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Experience: Prior restaurant experience required (as a Greeter, Busser, Food Runner, Expo, Server).
  • Certificates & Licenses:ย Must take and pass all training tests 90% or higher.
    • California Food Handler Certificateย - Must be obtained within 30 days from hire date. Training provided if applicant does not have a valid Californiaย Food Handler Certificate.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age.
