Job description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Seasonal/Temp

Come join our team at Parkwood Behavioral Health System, a UHS facility providing behavioral health and chemical dependency services to the Mid-South region since 1987. Located in Desoto County, Mississippi, we strive to provide the highest level of quality care to our patients through a full continuum of care for adults, adolescents, and children.

We are looking for a contract Registered Nurse (RN) for a temporary assignment (no more than 6 months) with the following details:

  • Assignment: Temporary (no more than 6 months)
  • Hours/Schedule: 7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.
  • Hourly Rate: $56.00 per hour
  • Note: Candidates employed by any UHS facility within the last 6 months are not eligible.

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care on a designated unit in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health. The RN prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The RN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and is responsible for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The RN may also assume Charge Nurse Responsibilities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; BSN preferred.
  • Experience: One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Licensure: Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse, or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN.
  • CPR: Current CPR or BLS certification.
  • Knowledge: Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training.
