Job description

RQ Construction está contratando actualmente a un Instalador de Tuberías Subterráneas para apoyar a nuestro equipo de Operaciones de Campo en proyectos de construcción activos en el área de Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Esta posición es responsable de instalación de sistemas de tuberías subterráneas para drenajes de tormentas, aguas residuales y sistemas de distribución de agua. El puesto incluye preparación de zanjas, instalación de tuberías, sellado de uniones, nivelación y trabajos relacionados con servicios subterráneos, realizados de manera segura y eficiente mientras se cumplen los estándares de calidad, cronogramas, presupuestos y la Misión, Visión y Valores de RQ.

Responsabilidades Principales

  • Excavar, nivelar y preparar zanjas a las profundidades y pendientes requeridas utilizando herramientas manuales o equipo mecánico
  • Cortar, alinear, posicionar y conectar secciones de tubería utilizando equipo de soldadura, cemento o adhesivos, y luego cubrir y sellar las líneas de tubería completadas
  • Instalar y reparar sistemas de alcantarillado sanitario y drenaje de tormenta utilizando instrumentos como láseres, niveles topográficos, reglas de nivelación y herramientas relacionadas para verificar precisión y cumplimiento
  • Asegurar que todos los trabajos de instalación de utilidades cumplan con las especificaciones del proyecto, los requisitos de cronograma y los estándares de calidad
  • Mantener y promover prácticas de trabajo seguras de acuerdo con las políticas de la empresa y las agencias reguladoras

Educación y Experiencia

  • Diploma de escuela superior o GED preferido
  • Se prefiere de uno a dos años de experiencia en construcción de utilidades subterráneas o trabajos relacionados
  • Experiencia en proyectos gubernamentales, militares o de construcción comercial de gran escala es altamente deseable
  • Se prefiere experiencia previa en la industria de construcción Design-Build
  • Certificaciones en CPR, Primeros Auxilios, OSHA 30, EM-385 y STS requeridas; se puede ofrecer adiestramiento si es necesario

RQ Construction is currently hiring an Underground Pipe Layer to support our Field Operations team on active construction projects in the Aguadilla, Puerto Rico area. This position is responsible for installing underground piping systems for storm drains, sanitary sewers, and water distribution systems. The role includes trench preparation, pipe installation, joint sealing, grading, and related utility work performed safely and efficiently while meeting project quality standards, schedules, budgets, and RQ's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Our project portfolio includes work nationwide as well as international locations such as U.S. Naval Base Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. RQ provides comprehensive project management and field construction services, specializing in fast-paced commercial construction projects with a strong concentration on Department of Defense work.

Pay: $15-18ph, Comprehensive Benefit Package

Key Responsibilities

  • Dig, grade, and level trenches to required depthsand slopes using hand tools or mechanical equipment
  • Cut, align, position, and connect pipe pieces using welding equipment, cement, or glue, then cover and seal completed pipe runs, then cover and seal
  • Install and repair stormwater and sanitary sewer systems utilizing instruments such as lasers, transit levels, grade rods, and related tools to verify compliance and accuracy
  • Ensure all utility installation work complieswithproject specifications, schedule requirements, and quality standards
  • Maintain and promote safe work practices in accordance with company policies and regulatory agencies
  • Assist with work planning, scheduling, and material coordination to support efficient productivity
  • Work closely with project management and field supervision teams to address field issues to maintain project progress
  • Use appropriate equipment and tools while ensuring their safe and proper operation

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • One to two years of experience in underground utility construction or related trade work preferred
  • Experience supporting government, military, or large commercial construction projects is highly desirable
  • Previous experience within the design-build construction industry preferred
  • CPR, First Aid, OSHA 30, EM-385, and STS certifications required; training provided if needed
