Job description

Merchandising Assistant
Location: New York, NY (4 days in-office, 1 day remote)
Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)


Dana-co, a leading design house specializing in luxury intimate apparel, is seeking aMerchandising Assistant to join our New York-based team. This position plays a key role in supporting the strategic direction of our product assortment across multiple brands. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytically driven, and trend-aware, with a passion for the fashion industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update merchandising charts; distribute relevant information to internal teams
  • Support assortment planning by identifying gaps and opportunities based on market trends, competition, and historical performance
  • Conduct market research on new launches, color trends, and whitespace opportunities
  • Monitor fashion trends through trade publications, social media, and industry resources
  • Visit retail locations monthly to assess visual merchandising, promotional strategies, and customer preferences
  • Track and analyze sales performance; highlight trends, issues, and make actionable recommendations
  • Assist in the creation and ongoing maintenance of seasonal merchandising plans
  • Assign seasonal colors to styles; create and manage seasonal color codes
  • Collaborate with the Merchandise Manager to ensure all tools and materials are accurate and aligned with the development calendar
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to manage sample logistics and seasonal hand-offs


Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Apparel, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in intimate apparel or a luxury fashion brand
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with acute attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Process-oriented with a creative and solution-driven mindset
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
