Job description

Home2 Suites by Hilton Tuscaloosa Downtown, conveniently located on University Boulevard in the heart of downtown Tuscaloosa, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. Every day is an opportunity for our team members to help ensure our guests experience exceptional comfort, convenience, and hospitality. As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining our hotel, guest rooms, and facilities to the highest standards while helping create a welcoming and memorable stay for every guest. If you’re a hands-on problem-solver who takes pride in your work and enjoys being part of a hospitality-focused team, we want you on our team!

JOB DUTIES

  1. Complete routine maintenance and minor repairs to facilities, public areas, and streets as needed..
  2. Preform preventative maintenance checks in guest rooms. 
  3. Complete guest room calls when on duty.
  4. Complete checklists of physical condition of guest rooms prior to and after guest occupancy.
  5. Ensure hotel is presentable and inviting at all times, and that it adheres to brand standards.
  6. Assist manager with supervision of service contractors.
  7. Inspect irrigation system regularly to ensure it is working properly, repairs as necessary.
  8. Inspect pool/spa area, and other recreational amenities to ensure everything is in good condition, making minor repairs as needed.
  9. Maintain hotel pool(s), test chemical levels, and adjust appropriately, where applicable.
  10. Follow safety procedures while performing duties.
  11. Other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

As a Maintenance Technician, you must be hard-working, reliable and focused on providing exceptional customer service. You must also be highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous maintenance experience preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work
  • Ability to endure seasonal temperatures as working conditions require constant outdoor work
  • General knowledge of janitorial work, plumbing and grounds maintenance
  • Proficient skills in operating various hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery
  • Ability to provide legible written reports
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Basic computer proficiency, including the ability to use email and internet
  • Availability to respond to resort needs during non-business hours while on-call
