Position Overview:


The Preconstruction Intern will support project planning and coordination efforts during the early stages of renewable energy project development. This role offers hands-on experience working with estimating, operations, procurement, and project management teams to prepare projects for successful execution.


The ideal candidate is organized, collaborative, and interested in understanding how construction projects are planned before breaking ground.


Essential Functions:

Project Planning Support

  • Assist with project document management
  • Support subcontractor and vendor outreach efforts
  • Help coordinate project schedules and deliverables
  • Review construction drawings and specifications

Preconstruction Coordination

  • Assist with bid package development
  • Track procurement and subcontractor activities
  • Support meeting preparation and documentation
  • Maintain project logs and tracking tools

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Attend planning and coordination meetings
  • Work with estimating, operations, and project management teams
  • Support process improvement initiatives

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in renewable energy and construction
  • Familiarity with project management principles
  • Experience reviewing drawings or technical documents

Working Conditions:

  • Combination of in-office and remote work (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
  • General work environment – sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning. 
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.
