Job description

This internship will help the team in variety of ways that may include assisting with the maintenance and improvement of our IT infrastructure, supporting the smooth operation of our systems, and/or assisting with various IT projects. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of information technology within a leading financial services and life insurance company. This internship works with supervision, partnering with their manager as needed and updating their Manager on a regular basis. Specific responsibilities associated with this position include: Information Security:- Provides support to business and IT teams on security consulting and information security projects. Assists in security and risk assessments of W&SFG systems, third-party vendors, and user access. Supports members of the Security Access Management (SRM), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and IT Risk Management (ITRM) teams in daily operations, recommending risk mitigations and countermeasures, escalating issues as needed. Software Quality Assurance:- Collaborates with testing, development, and project teams to create and maintain automation scripts and data testing artifacts, ensuring alignment with application testing efforts and Enterprise standards.Project Management Office:- Supports the Project Management Office by collaborating with program managers, project managers, business analysts, and PMO leadership to help manage and deliver strategic projects for Western & Southern Financial Group.Service Management Office: - Provides desk-side technical support and deployment services, interacting with Service Desk and IT teams to resolve hardware, software, and system issues. Assists with on-site and remote problem diagnosis, asset installation, and inventory control. W&S Agency Systems:- Supports the IT Agency Systems Team in updating Agency Systems Applications through the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with IT and business staff to write and test .NET/C#, Visual Studio, Oracle, and SQL Server tools in an Agile/Scrum environment.FWIA / ERG / Finance:- Supports Fort Washington Investment Advisors, Eagle Realty Group, and financial operations by evaluating, implementing, and supporting business applications. Helps business units execute their strategies and achieve W&S's financial goals. Helps develop and enhance operational solutions for business users.Artificial Intelligence & Robotics:- Uses advanced software to automate manual processes, supporting all departments to enhance productivity. Evaluates, implements, and supports business applications, helping business units achieve their strategies and W&S's financial goals.
What you will do:
  • Participates in and supports the facilitation of developmental project meetings, project team meetings, organizational events and activities, training support services, testing and troubleshooting activities, general IT work, and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Collaborates with other IT teams to understand industry best practices and provide assistance to project teams. Ensures project teams meet business needs and deliver solutions that help avoid risks to the corporate network and information assets.
  • Utilizes programming tools effectively to ensure accuracy and enhance productivity.
  • Assembles and analyzes data relating to processing problems, soliciting help as needed from IT and business unit associates.
  • Researches, designs, defines, develops, tests, documents and implements new automations or changes to existing automations following Western & Southern Financial Group (W&SFG) standards.
  • Supports knowledge management related deliverables such as documentation of the processes and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Setting/Position Demands:
  • Works in an office setting and remains in a stationary position for long periods of time while working at a desk, on a computer or with other standard office equipment, or while in meetings.
  • Requires the ability to verbally communicate and exchange accurate information to customers and associates on a regular basis.
  • Requires visual acuity to read and interpret a variety of correspondence, procedures, reports and forms via paper and electronic documents, visual inspection involving small defects; small parts, and/or operation of machinery (including inspection); using measurement devices continuously. Visual acuity is required to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work assigned.
  • Requires the ability to prepare written correspondence, reports and forms using prescribed formats and conforming to rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style on a regular basis.
  • Requires the ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Performs substantial movement of wrists, hands, and fingers for continuous computer work.
  • Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects/events.
