Job description

Murtha & Flischel is a leading CPA firm specializing in tax preparation and accounting services. We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and tech-savvy Front Office Administrator as additional support during tax season. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment. This is a seasonal position, starting January 2026 through end of April 2026.

This role supports daily front office operations and plays an important part during tax season, contributing to excellent client service and accurate administrative processing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming phone calls and assist clients with general questions or appointment scheduling
  • Review completed tax returns for accuracy using provided data sheets
  • Upload finalized tax returns to the client portal, request signatures, generate invoices, and notify clients
  • Maintain organized physical and digital client files
  • Ensure accurate client information across internal systems
  • Assist with general administrative and front office tasks as needed

Seasonal Work Expectations:

  • Ability to manage increased call volume and time-sensitive tasks during busy periods
  • Occasional extended hours may be required during peak season; schedule expectations will be communicated in advance
  • Outside of tax season, hours and workload are more consistent

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (students currently enrolled or recent graduates encouraged to apply)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable learning new technology and software (UltraTax, TaxDome, Monday.com)
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment
  • Prior administrative, customer service, or office experience is a plus
