What is a seasonal ecommerce remote?

Seasonal Ecommerce Remote jobs are temporary positions in online retail companies that can be performed from home. These roles typically become available during peak shopping periods, such as the holidays, and include tasks like customer service, order processing, inventory management, and technical support. Since they are remote, employees can work from any location with a reliable internet connection. These jobs provide flexibility and are a great way to earn extra income during busy seasons. After the peak period ends, these positions may conclude or, in some cases, lead to permanent opportunities.

How does a seasonal ecommerce remote role typically collaborate with other departments during peak sales periods?

In a Seasonal Ecommerce Remote role, frequent collaboration with teams such as customer service, inventory management, and marketing is essential, especially during peak sales periods like holidays. Communication is often managed through digital platforms, ensuring real-time updates on order status, promotions, and inventory levels. You'll likely participate in regular virtual meetings to align on daily goals and quickly resolve customer issues. This cross-functional teamwork helps maintain smooth operations and a positive customer experience throughout the busy season.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a seasonal ecommerce remote worker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Seasonal Ecommerce Remote Worker, you need strong digital literacy, customer service skills, and familiarity with online sales platforms, often supported by prior retail or ecommerce experience. Proficiency with order management systems, CRM software, and communication tools like email or live chat is typically required. Excellent time management, adaptability, and clear written communication are standout soft skills for this role. These abilities ensure efficient handling of high-volume online transactions and customer inquiries, which is crucial for business success during peak seasons.

One of the coolest ecommerce jobs around!

HARRY'S COMMENTS: We are working with a well-established, high-end pet nutrition brand in their search for a world-class Senior Director of Ecommerce. This is a fully remote role, but the firm is headquartered in Texas.

About the Company

The firm is completely committed to its mission of providing innovative pet products of superior quality that improve the lives of pets across the globe. This role will give you the opportunity to be part of one of the hottest growth stories in a multibillion-dollar industry that’s ripe for innovation and change.

This remote position includes 1./ a competitive base salary commensurate with relevant experience, 2./ Medical, Dental & Vision Benefits Plan, and 3./ 401K, Paid time off, and Paid Holidays.

The client is seeking a Senior Director of Ecommerce to lead its rapidly growing ecommerce business, which currently generates high 8-figures in revenue. Online, its brand operates exclusively through third-party marketplaces including Amazon, Chewy, PetSmart.com, and Petco.com, with no direct-to-consumer sales.

That's where YOU come in.

To win in this role, you must possess deep Amazon Vendor Central (1P) experience. ("Must" means MUST.) Reporting to the firm's VP of Sales, you will lead a small but strategic team, including an Ecommerce Manager and an Ecommerce Merchandising Specialist, with potential future expansion.

Your primary responsibilities include P&L ownership, management of retail media networks (RMN) across multiple platforms, and direct engagement with Amazon AVS and Chewy's strategic account teams.

Additionally, you'll be tasked with strategic aspects of running the online business, including revenue growth, cost optimization, customer experience and brand development -- PLUS technology and analytics, channel management, retail media and advertising, and vendor relationship management.

Whew!

Immediately, you'll find yourself completing ongoing Amazon and Chewy terms negotiations (particularly focusing on terms and profitability), scaling the brand's new TikTok Shop channel while working to drive continued profitability across their eCommerce channel.

It'll be up to YOU to navigate Amazon's complex systems and frequent algorithm changes while ensuring strong performance across all digital marketplaces. This is no place for a Vendor Central novice!

You'll be operating within a fast-moving, entrepreneurial culture where the firm's CEO maintains high-touch oversight and expects responsiveness from leaders. While the role is fully remote with occasional in-person meetings, you must be comfortable with virtual collaboration and cross-functional leadership, working closely with marketing, finance, and operations teams.

To get this job, you'll need at least eight (8) years of in-house ecommerce experience in the CPG industry (pet industry experience preferred but not required), strong P&L management skills, and proven success with Amazon Vendor Central.

Additionally, you must be able to balance strategic thinking while ensuring operational excellence, particularly in areas of retail media network management, marketplace optimization, and vendor negotiations.

This role represents a crucial hire for this client, as the ecommerce channel continues to grow in importance for the firm's overall business strategy. It will fall to YOU to maintain the firm's premium brand positioning while driving growth across multiple digital platforms, all while operating within the company's collaborative, cross-functional environment.
