Job description

PURPOSE: The Maintenance Worker provides general maintenance and performs a variety of tasks for the buildings and campuses of Calvary Albuquerque.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
� Maintain buildings, grounds, and landscaping
� Perform seasonal maintenance
� Provide plumbing services as needed
� Use basic carpentry skills as needed
� Lay tile, wood, and vinyl flooring as needed
� Construct with drywall, taping, texturing, painting, metal framing as needed
� Perform pool and fountain maintenance
� Work services as scheduled
� Assist on special projects as needed
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
� Perform light maintenance around main campus
� Maintain the baptismal and fountains
� Air conditioner maintenance
� Cleaning of building roofs
� Sprinkler systems inspections for leaks or overwatering
� Facility door inspections
� Bathroom maintenance checks (sink or toilet leaks)
� Pressure washing on all property concrete
� Ceiling maintenance (water leeks and changing ceiling tiles)
� Vehicle maintenance
� Fire extinguishers, emergency exit signs and lights checklist
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & ABILITIES preferred, but not required:
� Experience in property and facility maintenance
� Basic knowledge and use of hand and power tools
� Basic mechanical skills
� Basic computer skills
� Ability to work in a team environment
� Ability to shift priorities and to multitask
� Ability to work independently on assigned task as well as to accept direction on given assignments
� Possesses physical strength necessary to lift and move heavy equipment.
� Familiar with electrical and wired systems.
� Possesses familiarity with the function and makeup of HVAC systems.
� Pays close attention to detail.
� Demonstrates familiarity with health and safety precautions.
� Exhibits solid time management skills.
� Is capable of adapting repair skills and mechanical knowledge to a wide range of different requests.
� Has a valid driver's license.
� Demonstrates ability to operate mechanical and landscaping equipment.
� Can respond quickly and calmly to emergency requests.
� Communicates clearly and effectively with others to describe the problem and solution involved in particular maintenance requests.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
� Work may be conducted either inside or outside according to maintenance requests.
� Temperatures will be variable according to season and specific work site.
� Time will be spent in church sanctuary, offices, and classrooms depending on the church and nature of the repair request.
� Minor travel from one campus site to another may be required.
� Tasks may involve moderate to heavy physical labor.
� Walking, climbing, standing, sitting, and lifting are required.
