The Store Manager Trainee - Bench role is designed to prepare a high-potential retail leader to successfully operate a Dollar Tree store. This position provides hands-on training in store operations, merchandising, freight productivity, customer service, associate development, payroll awareness, compliance, and overall store profitability.
The Store Manager Trainee learns how to lead daily store activities while creating a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and associates. This role supports the execution of company standards for merchandising, product placement, signage, recovery, freight flow, and operational processes. The trainee is expected to develop the leadership skills needed to recruit, hire, train, coach, and hold associates accountable while ensuring the store delivers a strong customer experience.
Key responsibilities include supporting opening and closing procedures, protecting company assets, maintaining high standards of store presentation, implementing operational direction from corporate leadership, and helping the store maximize profit contribution. The role requires strong communication, organization, follow-up, and the ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-energy retail environment.
