Seasonal Retail Associate – College Textbook & Apparel Store

Location: University of Wisconsin - Steven's Point
Compensation: $12.00/hour
Job Type: Seasonal, Part-time, Hourly

The UWSP Campus Textbook & Apparel Store is hiring Seasonal Retail Associates to support our team during the busy back-to-school season. This temporary position is tentatively scheduled to end on September 30, 2026.

We are looking for detail-oriented, organized individuals who enjoy providing excellent customer service. In this role, you will help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and other customers during our peak season.

Key Responsibilities:

Store Maintenance & Operations:

  • Ensure the store remains safe, clean, and well-organized for customers and staff.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, counters, door handles, phones, credit card machines, and signature pads.
  • Regularly clean the breakroom and vacuum rugs, entry mats, and other designated areas.
  • Empty trash bins and ensure waste is disposed of properly.

Stocking & Organization:

  • Ensure shopping bags, receipt paper, and barcode labels are readily available at registers and workstations.
  • Organize and restock clothing returns and merchandise while keeping displays neat and visually appealing.
  • Straighten and organize customer pickup orders for easy retrieval.
  • Maintain the organization of hangers, clothing racks, and the overall store.
  • Clean store walkways using a Swiffer to provide a pleasant shopping experience.

Required Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Positive and professional attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team during a busy peak season.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
