Job description

Partners Coffee is an independently owned, small-batch specialty coffee roaster headquartered in Brooklyn, NY. Since opening, we've grown alongside the neighborhood, developing a thriving wholesale business, comprehensive education facilities, and four cafes across our amazing city. Commitment to coffee integrity and community is at the center of our practice. We believe specialty coffee is for everyone, in New York - and everywhere.

We're looking for a deeply creative, detail-obsessed graphic designer to join our team at our Greenpoint office and coffee lab.

This role is ideal for someone who is excited by the chance to build on the brand's visual identity as we continue to scale. During this time of significant growth, you will have the opportunity to help steward and evolve the Partners Coffee brand - exploring new concepts and methodologies, and strengthening our foundations.

You will create marketing assets across all touchpoints, contributing to creative concepts and bringing projects to life. If you are enthusiastic about taking the seed of an idea, identifying a clear design vision that aligns with the heart of our brand identity, and executing effectively to create work you're excited about, we want to hear from you. While the role sits within our marketing team, the work supports all departments. You will have a hand and a voice in all of our packaging, retail design in our cafes, trade show materials, and beyond.

Our office, situated just blocks from McCarren and McGolrick Parks, is home base for our coffee lab, outfitted with everything you need to make coffee, experiment with extraction, and capture content in-house.

This space sits atop our tech and warehousing facility to create the ultimate coffee clubhouse, pulling espresso shots and taking ping-pong breaks, all while sitting in the sunlight and watching the Greenpoint neighborhood go by.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Packaging & Print Production

  • Design retail packaging across bags, cans, boxes, and secondary packaging
  • Build production-ready files: dielines, color separations, bleeds, pre-press specs
  • Manage back-and-forth with printers and vendors through proofing and press approvals
  • Keep labeling compliant: net weight, nutrition panels, certifications (USDA Organic, Fair Trade), barcodes
  • Build photorealistic product mockups in Photoshop, bags, cans, boxes, shelf sets, and lifestyle scenes, for internal review, sales presentations, retailer pitches, and e-commerce imagery before physical samples exist

Brand & Digital Graphics

  • Design assets for email, web, paid social, and organic social
  • Support e-commerce with product imagery, banners, landing page graphics, and lifecycle campaign visuals
  • Design in-cafe materials: menu boards, signage, merch, seasonal promos

Brand Stewardship

  • Maintain our brand guidelines, type system, color palette, and asset library
  • Keep the brand consistent across every channel and every touchpoint
  • Champion innovation that drives our growth and evolution while staying true to our brand identity, supporting the creative expansion of our brand as we scale.

Sales & Wholesale Collateral

  • Design line sheets, sell sheets, one-pagers, and pitch decks for wholesale, grocery, and corporate partnerships
  • Build trade show and event materials including booth graphics, signage, print collateral
  • Create templated systems the sales team can update on their own

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • 2-5 years of design experience, ideally in a fast-moving DTC brand environment; CPG, food & beverage experience a plus.
  • Strong portfolio showing packaging and print work (mandatory)
  • Expert in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
  • Real print production knowledge: substrates, CMYK vs. spot color, dielines, pre-press, working with printers
  • Advanced Photoshop skills for product mockups, smart objects, displacement maps, compositing, lighting, and shadow work that makes a concept look like a real product on a real shelf
  • Motion graphics
  • Ability to move between polished brand work and fast turnaround requests without losing quality
  • Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable owning projects end to end
  • A genuine interest in specialty coffee and the world of packaging design

NICE TO HAVE

  • Photography experience
  • Experience designing within Shopify, Klaviyo, or Canva template systems
  • Video retouching and editing

DETAILS & BENEFITS

  • Full-time, on-site at our Greenpoint office and coffee lab
  • Health, dental, and vision available after eligibility milestones
  • 10 days vacation + 10 federal holidays
  • Commuter benefits
  • Lots of coffee to drink and take home
