The Senior Digital Marketing Specialist oversees the multi-faceted digital marketing activities and provides leadership guidance to integrated media buyers on the Marketing team. This includes but is not limited to overseeing digital lead generation efforts via Google/Bing Pay Per Click campaigns, social postings, digital display, CM360 and digital analysis. The Senior Digital Marketing Specialist continuously evaluates digital efforts for improvement and potential new tests/activities.

The SEO Specialist will support the execution of Generac's organic search and AI Optimization (AIO) strategies across a portfolio of digital properties. This role is hands-on and focused on implementing SEO best practices, optimizing content, and identifying opportunities to improve search visibility and performance.

This role will report to the SEO and Content Strategy Manager and work closely with product marketing, UX and design, and engineering teams to enhance site performance, support content initiatives, and contribute to a scalable organic growth strategy.

Key ResponsibilitiesSEO Execution & Optimization
  • Execute on-page SEO optimizations including metadata, internal linking, header structure, and URL improvements

  • Support keyword research and implement keyword targeting across priority pages

  • Optimize existing content to improve rankings, engagement, and conversion performance

  • Assist in developing content briefs aligned with SEO strategy and user intent

Technical SEO Support
  • Conduct routine technical audits to identify crawlability, indexation, and performance issues

  • Partner with engineering and UX teams to implement SEO recommendations (e.g., site speed, structured data, mobile optimization)

  • Support implementation of schema markup and other technical enhancements

Content & AIO (AI Optimization)
  • Assist in optimizing content for AI-driven search experiences (e.g., featured snippets, generative search, FAQs)

  • Support development of resource content such as blogs, guides, and help articles

  • Ensure content aligns with evolving search behaviors and AI search trends

Performance Tracking & Reporting
  • Monitor and report on key SEO metrics including rankings, organic traffic, and conversions

  • Use tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and SEO platforms (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs) to analyze performance

  • Identify trends and recommend optimizations based on data insights

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal teams (content, digital, product marketing) to align SEO with broader marketing initiatives

  • Support campaign launches and website updates with SEO best practices

  • Coordinate with external agencies or vendors as needed

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 3-5 years of hands-on SEO experience

  • Experience optimizing website content and improving organic search performance

  • Familiarity with SEO tools (Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMrush, Ahrefs, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with technical SEO fundamentals (site audits, schema, Core Web Vitals)

  • Understanding of AI-driven search and emerging SEO trends

  • Experience working within CMS platforms (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager, WordPress, Optimizely)

  • Basic HTML/CSS knowledge
