Job description

Talen Energy is currently seeking a Director of Treasury and Corporate Finance to join our team. The role will be based out of our new office in Houston, on Allen Parkway. We work a hybrid model - working a few days from home and a few days in the office.
What will you own?
  • Work alongside the VP - Treasurer and CFO in managing debt related transactions both at the corporate and project levels
  • Manage and lead relationships with all three credit rating agencies (Moody's, S&P, and Fitch)

  • Strong leadership in process improvement, streamlining of workflows, and system implementations
  • Manage a team of analysts providing mentorship and career development support
  • Develop corporate finance analyses pertaining to cost of capital, interest rate hedging, liquidity, capital allocation, leverage, etc.
  • Assist and coordinate executive reporting, including debt compliance scorecards, external financial reporting footnotes, and disclosures
  • Lead company's medium term cash forecast by refining existing processes and aligning with longer term projections and near-term estimates
  • Develop relationships across the organization to influence desired outcomes
  • Drive capital markets diligence to optimize liquidity, evaluate transactional opportunities, and manage scenarios/sensitivities
  • Lead debt compliance, covenant calculation, scenario planning, and review / submission of periodic compliance certificates

What you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related business field required

  • Team player; shares knowledge; mentors and trains others
  • Results oriented; self-motivated and proactive, requiring minimum supervision
  • Project management skills, and strong leadership to coordinate tasks and deliverables across multiple groups
  • Good working knowledge of Treasury Management Systems (TMS), ETRM, ERP, and visualization tools (PowerBI)
  • Must have at least 8-10 years of working experience in Corporate Treasury, Capital Markets, Project Finance. Energy industry experience helpful but not mandatory
  • Master's degree in Finance or Accounting favorable. The equivalent of the same in practical experience is also acceptable.
