Job Overview:
The QA/QC Inspector 2 is a senior, advanced inspector responsible for overseeing complex and critical inspection scopes, managing the quality compliance of subcontractors, and acting as a technical authority in the assigned discipline. This role works with a high degree of autonomy.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Act as the lead inspector for high-risk or critical path activities, managing all associated quality documentation and final turnover packages for the assigned discipline
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits of subcontractor processes and systems to ensure adherence to the QMS and contractual requirements
  • Provide technical disposition and approval for complex Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and coordinate with regulatory bodies for final approval and commissioning
  • Develop and review Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and job-specific quality procedures, ensuring they meet the most stringent project specifications and industry codes (e.g., ASME, API, NEC)
  • Mentor and provide expert technical guidance to QA/QC Inspectors 1 and Technicians

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive industrial construction/maintenance industry experience is required, with 5+ years of advanced QA/QC inspection in the specified discipline
  • Hold a senior/advanced professional certification for the discipline (e.g., AWS Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI), NICET Level III/IV, or equivalent advanced state/national Civil certifications)
  • Expert knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards, and the ability to interpret and apply them to construction practices
  • Proven ability to manage inspection records for inclusion in the final Mechanical Completion/Turnover Documentation

Preferred Qualifications and Education:
  • A formal ASQ Certified Quality Inspector or Certified Quality Auditor designation
  • Experience in vendor surveillance and source inspection at fabrication facilities
  • Familiarity with commissioning and startup procedures from a quality verification standpoint
