Career Opportunity
We have an immediate need for a full-time SSDS Operations Specialist to oversee the requirements of the Statement of Work at our Wallops Island, Virginia, station. The Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) at Wallops Island requires support in management, engineering, operations, and technical expertise for the activation, operation, maintenance, and engineering of equipment, systems, and computer programs. This support is crucial for all Naval Sea Systems Command and Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Systems missions and projects conducted at SCSC. SCSC offers live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric maritime environment, aimed at developing, testing, evaluating, and conducting fleet operations and training for the warfighter.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
โ€ข Assists in various types of electronic systems such as SSDS, C4I, Combat Systems, Communication Systems, etc.
โ€ข Duties include system design, integration, modification, testing, installation engineering, and design engineering, developing and reviewing equipment test plans and procedures, conducting analyses, analyzing test results, and recommending design changes to bring systems into compliance with design/performance specifications.
โ€ข Adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies in results, and follows operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes. Coordinates, computes, or synthesizes engineering or technical data.
โ€ข Uses prescribed mathematical formulae and/or models to calculate measures of performance characteristics for electronic systems.
โ€ข Supervises technical staff assigned to project.
โ€ข Duties include the training of project personnel in the procedures and approaches available for the work effort.
Travel
โ€ข Occasional travel up to 25%.

Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills, and Abilities Required
โ€ข Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
โ€ข Must have at least eight years of Combat Systems experience in SSDS Combat Systems to include tactical employment in support of all warfare areas.
โ€ข Must have at least five years of management experience with Combat Systems, including responsibility for managing technical performance, reliability, maintainability, cost, schedule, and delivery requirements.

Qualifications
โ€ข Active DoD Secret security clearance is highly desired; however, candidates eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered. The selected candidate will receive a contingent offer if they do not hold an active clearance. A start date will be established once an interim Secret clearance is granted.
โ€ข Must be a U.S. citizen.
โ€ข Must maintain the capability to communicate with their supervisor or manager when not in the office.
