Job description

What we are looking for

We are looking for an Equipment Operator who will support construction and environmental control system projects by safely operating and maintaining heavy equipment. This role will perform routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance, operate construction machinery, and assist with the construction and repair of environmental control systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, industry practices, and SCS safety requirements.

The Equipment Operator will work primarily in the field and may work independently or alongside Laborers, Fusion Technicians, other Equipment Operators, and project supervisors to complete assigned work.

Understand and comply with SCS policies and procedures, with a primary focus on the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP), Quality Management System, and SCS Standards of Business Conduct and Ethics

Participate in and prepare daily Crew Activity Plans (CAP), conduct equipment inspections, and complete PPE assessments

Participate in and complete required Health & Safety training

Follow safety protocols and Codes of Safe Work Practices for heavy equipment operation, trenching, backfilling operations, and well construction

Operate various types of heavy equipment in support of construction and repair activities for environmental control systems

Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance checks on heavy equipment prior to operation and document relevant information for service records

Check equipment prior to operation to ensure appropriate fuels, oils, lubricants, and hydraulic fluids are properly filled

Report equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or other issues to the Project Superintendent or Project Manager

Assist with hand shoveling when excavating near utilities or other sensitive areas

Assist with drilling projects by moving and lifting materials into drilled gas wells for well completion

Use appropriate tools, equipment, and materials to maintain and repair components of environmental control systems

Interact professionally with SCS Field Services personnel, subcontractors, and other project team members

Operate company vehicles as required, including traveling long distances to and around various project sites

Perform other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of equipment operation experience is required Meet all physical requirements to complete essential duties and pass a human performance evaluation (HPE) Desirable certification: 40-Hour HAZWOPER Course, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120, and the 8-Hour HAZWOPER Refresher Course, OSHA 29CFR 1910.120 (e), (q)(8) (training will be provided if not current)

Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record in good standing.
