Scope of Work

Capio Group is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager who possesses deep technical backend expertise. The role requires managing project timelines while acting as a technical advisor for design, deployment, and migration of systems across IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments. The ideal candidate bridges the gap between engineering teams and executive leadership, ensuring infrastructure remains secure, scalable, and high‑performing.

The Infrastructure Project Manager will be responsible for tasks including but not limited to:

  • Lead projects through all phases of the system development lifecycle (SDLC) using Waterfall, Agile, and Hybrid methodologies as appropriate.
  • Act as the Scrum Master, facilitating stand‑ups, sprint planning, and backlog grooming while coaching teams on Agile principles.
  • Lead the development of the IT technology portfolio and manage a cloud infrastructure capacity plan.
  • Facilitate requirements elicitation and present technical reports/recommendations to executives. Review business needs to recommend and implement policy changes that ensure regulatory compliance and enforcement.
  • Coordinate the procurement of products/services and manage complex vendor contracts to ensure schedule and budget performance.
  • Direct the implementation and integration of enterprise networking, firewalls, and servers, while optimizing cloud configurations (AWS/Azure) and VMware infrastructure to ensure high availability and security.
  • Evaluate complex business problems and project solutions from multiple perspectives, including customers, stakeholders, and vendors, to provide technical advice and viable alternatives.
  • Display a high degree of professionalism and tact when working with diverse peers and stakeholders.
Mandatory Experience
  1. Within the last ten (10) years, must have a minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible project management experience managing large scale enterprise information technology (IT) projects.
  2. Within the last ten (10) years, must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in leading the design, build, and operation of highly consistent and scalable infrastructure on major platforms, with a strong preference for AWS.
  3. Within the last ten (10) years, must have a minimum of three (3) years of experience demonstrating a broad technical understanding of extended networking domains, virtualization, and hybrid cloud integrations.
  4. Within the last ten (10) years, must have three (3) years of experience managing deployment, runtime, load balancing, autoscaling, and system performance tuning.
  5. Within the last ten (10) years, must have three (3) years of project management experience supporting projects with cross‑functional stakeholder groups across business and IT.
  6. Within the last ten (10) years, must have three (3) years of experience with information and application security concepts, including public key encryption, remote access, access credentials, and certificate‑based authentication.
  7. Possess a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification issued by the Project Management Institute. A copy of the certification must be provided upon request. The certification is required and cannot be substituted with the experience.
Desirable Experience
  1. Within the last ten (10) years, must have a minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a Higher Education environment.
  2. Within the last ten (10) years, have two (2) years of experience with Organizational Change Management (OCM) and ITIL‑based process improvement.
  3. Within the last ten (10) years, have two (2) years of experience with MS Project or ServiceNow for the purposes of Project Management.
