Job Description

The ultimate goal of the Compounding Pharmacy Technician is to provide extraordinary hospitality and guest experiences by preparing the highest quality compounds according to our standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to prioritizing daily workflow, ensuring potency testing is completed according to procedures and ensuring all procedures are followed to the "T". The Compounding Pharmacy Technician will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, build positive relationships with team members, and maintain a high sense of urgency and initiative.

Typical Work Hours

Monday- Thursday
7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday
7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform compounding in accordance with formula logs and compounding procedures.
  • Assure the proper maintenance, cleanliness, and use of all equipment used in the -compounding process.
  • Ensure personal protection by following appropriate gowning and safety procedures.
  • Routinely submit samples for potency testing.
  • Follow daily plan set forth by Compounding Pharmacist.
  • Continually seek and implement departmental process and procedure improvements.
  • Ensure documentation is complete with forms. (i.e. scale calibration, cleaning station)

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

  • Proficient in the use of PK Compounder & Script Pro.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Able to multitask in a fast-paced work environment
  • Well organized with great attention to detail
  • Maintains a positive attitude with guests and team members
  • High sense of urgency
  • Must be a certified pharmacy technician who is registered in the state of Texas.

  • Must be able to lift 20 pounds
  • Requires the ability to stand throughout the day
  • Must be able to speak and communicate in a clear, articulate manner over the phone and in-person
  • Comfortable with operating pharmacy machinery (i.e. pouring powders in the tall hopper, pulling and lifting on tablet press lever)
