Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is looking for a part-time Pharmacy Technician to work at our newly renovated facility at 205 Hollow Tree Lane, Spring, TX.

Pay starting at $22.00

Schedule: 10:00 am - 2:00 pm (4 hour shift)

Position Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician supports the preparation and distribution of medications and related functions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in a secure correctional healthcare setting. This role plays a vital part in ensuring safe, accurate, and timely medication services to an incarcerated population, while maintaining compliance with institutional, state, and federal guidelines.

Essential Functions:

  1. Prepare, package, and label medications for dispensing as prescribed, under pharmacist supervision
  2. Process medication orders using institutional pharmacy software
  3. Maintain accurate inventory of medications, supplies, and controlled substances
  4. Deliver and restock medication carts or cabinets within the facility housing units or medical areas
  5. Handle returns, destructions, and expired medications in compliance with protocols
  6. Assist with maintaining cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy work area
  7. Communicate effectively with healthcare staff, custody officers, and patients as needed
  8. Adhere to strict security protocols at all times
  9. Document and report medication discrepancies, shortages, or incidents per policy
  10. Participate in quality assurance, audits, and compliance procedures

It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her scope of work as determined by management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required. Current Pharmacy Tech registration or Pharmacist intern registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy required. Minimum 1 year hospital pharmacy experience is required. IV certification required. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Post Hire Requirements:

Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements to include physical agility test and pass an annual background check.
