The RoleAspenTech is looking for a talented and experienced Technical Writer to join our Enterprise Operations Platform (EOP) organization. In this role, you will be responsible for translating complex technical concepts into comprehensive, user-centric content that is easy to understand. You will work collaboratively with technical team members and other technical writers to ensure our AspenTech customers have the information they need to use our industry leading products.
As part of the EOP team, you will be a member of an Agile development team responsible for the delivery of next-generation industrial software solutions. These solutions will provide a software-defined, data-centric, flexible platform which enables automation for AspenTech's diverse customer base. This role's contributions have highly visible impacts on the success and scalability of our software offerings to our customers. Our organization and product are positioned in the market to grow at a rapid pace over the next decade with varied opportunities for career growth.Your Impact
  • Research, write, and edit documentation such as configuration guides, user documentation, and other related technical materials.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of products to efficiently manage and deliver complex software documentation that meets the needs of the target audience.
  • Partner closely with development teams, product managers, product owners, architects, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and source accurate information to continually improve documentation.
  • Drive documentation best practices across teams in the organization.
  • Apply design and style guides to existing documentation to ensure consistent look and feel across the documentation library.
  • Utilize work tracking system to ensure tasks stay on track and deadlines are met.
  • Actively participate with team members as part of a scaled Agile organization.
  • Contribute to a culture of accountability and collaboration across a variety of support, development, security, and product teams.
  • Continually demonstrate adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Complete assigned technical and industry training.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills as a participant in a variety of Agile ceremonies.
What You'll Need
  • A bachelor's degree in Technical/Professional Writing, English, Communications, Operations Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 5-8 years of experience developing software, User Guides, Configuration Documents, or technical documentation.
  • Language requirement: French: A1 (advanced) English level C1 (advanced), the position requires interactions with international clients.
  • Ability to quickly learn complex topics and software applications.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of how to translate complex information into concise, easy-to-follow instructions
  • Strong personal project management skills; able to be self-directed and capable of working effectively in an environment with a high degree of change.
  • Knowledge of HTML and web publishing Experience in: Python, Lua, CSS, Javascript, Antora.
  • Understanding of Agile methodology, such as SAFe or Scrum.
  • Familiarity with project management tools, such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Willingness to contribute ideas and solutions while honoring and supporting the ideas of others.
