What is a Script Coverage job?

A Script Coverage job involves reading and analyzing screenplays, then providing a structured report that includes a summary, comments, and a recommendation for producers, agents, or executives. Coverage helps decision-makers quickly assess whether a script is worth pursuing. Readers evaluate elements like plot, structure, character development, and dialogue. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of storytelling are essential for success in this role.

Deadlines can be tight, especially during pilot or development seasons, so time management and efficiency are essential.
