Work Schedule

40 hours a week Monday - Friday 10am to 6pm

What You'll Do
  • Serve as an on-camera host of Complex News, ensuring major stories in music, pop/internet culture, and entertainment are covered with urgency and authority.

  • Storyboard, film, and edit high-quality video content for multiple platforms-including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and the Complex app-optimized for each platform's storytelling style and audience behavior.

  • Produce and/or host approximately 10x vertical videos per week across formats.

  • Work closely with the Content Strategy Director to develop sharp, audience-first video content that performs across platforms.

  • Monitor the news cycle in real time and deliver fast, informed takes that are relevant to what our audience actually cares about.

  • Work with the social team to maximize the reach of every video.

  • Conduct on-camera interviews with talent, industry figures, and newsmakers to advance stories and build lasting relationships.

  • Plan coverage in advance for major cultural moments and events that align with the Complex brand.

  • Help coordinate scheduling alongside social editors to ensure seamless coverage.

Who You Are
  • 2+ years in a media or entertainment environment with demonstrated experience delivering scripted and unscripted content, interviewing talent, anchoring coverage

  • Deep understanding of Complex's world - internet culture, music, sneakers, pop culture, and entertainment

  • Natural on-camera presence

  • A relentless pulse on culture - always knowing what's popping and what's next

  • Strong editorial instincts and the ability to find the right angle, tone, and energy for every segment

  • Comfortable with teleprompter and fully capable of going off-script with confidence

  • Able to deliver under pressure with tight turnarounds and live or same-day production schedules

  • A self-starter who can carry a segment with minimal direction

  • Must be able to script, shoot, edit, and post your own videos - CapCut experience preferred

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and be available after hours to cover breaking cultural moments as they happen

$250 - $250 a day

The Pay Range, which consists of rate of pay per hour, for this position is listed. Actual pay will vary based on factors including, but not limited to location, experience, and performance.
