Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed trauma-informed mental health assessments that evaluate patients' trauma histories and identify appropriate and effective treatment approaches.
  • Develop and implement personalized treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery, resilience, and emotional well-being.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to deliver impactful therapeutic interventions.
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, providing patients with a structured environment to process their trauma and develop essential coping strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and healthcare professionals to provide a holistic and integrated care experience for patients.
  • Offer crisis intervention services as necessary, providing immediate and effective support during trauma-related emergencies.
  • Engage with patients and their families through education on trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources.
  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential documentation in compliance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring holistic patient care.
  • Participate in case consultations, professional development activities, and team meetings that focus on the latest advancements in trauma-informed care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Therapist at Scripps Behavioral Health, you will work primarily with patients who have experienced significant trauma. This includes individuals suffering from PTSD, complex trauma, and various dissociative disorders. Your role is critical in guiding these individuals through their healing journeys, promoting resilience and empowerment.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Texas.
  • Proficiency in trauma-informed treatment paradigms and resilience-building strategies is essential.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
