Director of Field Service

Cascade Pacific Council — Scouting America | Portland, Oregon

Salary: $100,000 – $126,500 depending on experience

Cascade Pacific Council is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Scouting professional to serve as our next Director of Field Service. This is a senior leadership role responsible for the quality, consistency, and growth of Scouting programs at the unit level across our council's service area.

About the Role

The Director of Field Service leads a team of district professionals, ensuring that every unit delivers Scouting programs consistent with Scouting America's approved standards. This position is directly responsible for growing the number of units and communities we serve, developing new community partnerships, and ensuring that our volunteer infrastructure is strong, well-supported, and continuously growing.

The Director of Field Service serves as the designated staff advisor to the Council Commissioner and Commissioner Corps, and is a key member of the Council Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, and develop district field professionals
  • Drive unit growth and new unit formation across the council's service area
  • Build and maintain community and governmental partnerships
  • Serve as staff advisor to the Council Commissioner and Commissioner Corps
  • Support membership recruitment and youth retention in collaboration with the Director of Membership Growth
  • Recruit, develop, and retain district and council volunteer leadership
  • Ensure governance compliance with Scouting America national policies and CPC local bylaws

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional Scouting or nonprofit leadership experience
  • Proven track record of leading teams, developing volunteers, and growing programs
  • Experience as a District Director, Field Director, or equivalent senior field role preferred
  • Completion of Scouting America professional development credentials a plus
  • Deep commitment to Scouting's mission and values
