Job description

We are seeking a Mobile Field Test Engineer to support 5G/LTE and NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) / Satellite testing in real-world environments. This role focuses on end-to-end validation, log analysis, and troubleshooting across terrestrial and satellite (LEO/GEO, Direct-to-Device) networks in collaboration with R&D, QA, and carrier teams. Perform field/drive testing for 5G NR, LTE, 3G, and NTN/satellite networks Execute RF, mobility, and data performance testing (throughput, latency, call scenarios) Validate handover between cellular and satellite (NTN) networks Capture and analyze logs using QXDM, QPST, XCAL/XCAP, Shannon DM Troubleshoot VoLTE/VoNR, data connectivity, and network performance issues Develop and execute test plans (routes, devices, KPIs, network conditions) Perform packet analysis using Wireshark (TCP/IP, UDP) Validate software/modem updates and feature enhancements Document results and deliver clear technical reports Configure and maintain test devices, SIM/eSIM, and test environments Collaborate with carrier labs, OEMs, and chipset teams for issue resolution Required Qualifications Bachelorโ€™s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience Hands-on experience in mobile field testing / wireless / telecom testing Strong knowledge of 5G NR, LTE, WCDMA/UMTS, GSM Working knowledge of NTN / satellite communications (LEO/GEO, latency, coverage) Experience with log analysis tools (QXDM, QPST, XCAL, Shannon DM or similar) Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, OSI model) Experience with Android device testing and mobile software validation Familiarity with VoLTE/VoNR, data testing, and KPI validation Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with 3GPP Release 17+ NTN standards Hands-on exposure to Direct-to-Device (D2D) satellite connectivity Understanding of 5G protocol stack (PHY, MAC, RRC, NAS signaling) Experience in carrier certification or satellite communication testing Knowledge of GNSS/GPS, RF propagation, and mobility scenarios Familiarity with automation/scripting (ADB, Python, Shell) Experience with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth coexistence testing Work Environment Combination of field testing (drive/walk testing) and lab validation Testing may include outdoor, remote, or limited-connectivity environments Requires travel (up to 15%) based on project scope May require extended hours or weekend work for test cycles and deployments Hands-on work with mobile devices, RF equipment, and satellite-enabled hardware Requirements Valid driverโ€™s license and ability to travel to test locations Ability to work in field environments and handle test equipment
