Position Details

Overview

We are seeking an Intermediate Portfolio/Program Manager (Data Governance Analyst) to support a large-scale SAP implementation project. This role will focus on establishing and maintaining data governance standards, improving data quality, and ensuring compliance across enterprise data domains.

The successful candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, data stewards, and technical teams to define governance frameworks, support data migration initiatives, and ensure readiness for implementation and long-term sustainability.

Key Outcomes

  • Establish and maintain enterprise data governance standards
  • Support data migration activities aligned with master data governance tools
  • Develop, track, and report on data quality KPIs and metrics

Key Responsibilities

Data Governance & Standards

  • Define and document data governance policies, standards, and rules for SAP data objects (e.g., Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance)
  • Establish and support data ownership and stewardship models across business domains
  • Maintain data structures, metadata, and governance documentation within approved catalogues

Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment

  • Partner with business and IT teams to define data definitions, business rules, and standards
  • Facilitate governance workshops to align stakeholders on data ownership, rules, and definitions
  • Collaborate with functional teams (Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain) to ensure alignment of data requirements

Data Migration & Quality

  • Support data migration activities, including:
  • Data cleansing
  • Validation
  • Reconciliation
  • Develop and monitor data quality KPIs and metrics
  • Identify and address data quality issues to ensure accuracy and consistency

Compliance & Controls

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Review SOX compliance documentation and collaborate with audit/control teams
  • Support governance processes that align with regulatory and audit requirements

Tools & Implementation Support

  • Support implementation of data governance tools and workflows
  • Maintain metadata and documentation in data catalog tools
  • Assist with project closure activities ensuring all data deliverables are complete and signed off

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in information systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3โ€“7 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data quality roles
  • Experience supporting or working on SAP implementations (S/4HANA preferred)
  • Strong understanding of master data domains (Customer, Vendor, Material, Finance)
  • Experience with data migration, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation processes

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of SAP tables and data structures
  • Strong understanding of databases and data structures
  • Experience with SAP transactions (e.g., SE16N) and data extraction tools
  • Familiarity with data profiling and data quality tools
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Experience with data governance or metadata tools such as:
  • Prospecta MDO
  • SAP MDG
  • Microsoft Purview
  • SAP DataSphere
  • Information Steward (asset)

Soft Skills
