About the Role & Team

The Disney Decision Science and Integration (DDSI) teamleveragesadvanced technologies, data analytics, and scientific approaches such as optimization and statistical modeling to build innovative tools that shape business decisions across The Walt Disney Company. We support Disney Entertainment (ABC, The Walt Disney Studios, Disney+, Hulu), ESPN, Disney Experiences (Theme Parks, Cruise Line, Consumer Products, DVC), and Corporate Finance with strategic applications that enable data-driven decision-making.

The Disney Decision Science & Integration (DDSI) organization provides internal consulting and advanced analytics capabilities across The Walt Disney Company. The Decision Science Product team partners with decision scientists, data engineers, software engineers, and user experience designers to build technology-enabled analytics products that shape business decisions and deliver measurable value. If selected for this role, you will report to the Director, Decision Science Products. This is a full-time role focused on launching and scaling new decision science products within an emerging products portfolio.

What You Will Do

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for new decision science products-from discovery and ideation through launch, adoption, and continuous delivery.

  • Define product strategy and multi-release roadmaps; translate user and market insights into prioritized backlogs and clear outcomes.

  • Lead cross-functional squads (engineering, data science, data engineering, UX) to scope solutions, run experiments/prototypes, and deliver high-quality releases on time.

  • Convert complex analytical and technical concepts (forecasting, optimization, machine learning) into intuitive user experiences and actionable business capabilities.

  • Integrate user research, usability studies, and market analysis into requirements; champion user-centric design and measurable success criteria (OKRs/KPIs).

  • Establish and improve product development practices (agile ceremonies, backlog hygiene, release planning, and change management).

  • Guide solution testing and validation (unit, integration, UAT, and A/B testing) to ensure reliability, performance, and business impact.

  • Partner with client stakeholders as a strategic advisor; communicate roadmaps, trade-offs, and results through compelling narratives and visuals.

  • Develop and mentor team members; foster an inclusive, collaborative culture that embraces learning and experimentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • 8+ years of experience including data science product management for technology-based data/analytics or software products, data science product management consulting, and/or novel data science and advanced analytics solution development.

  • 2 + years of experience leading cross-functional teams or agile squads in a matrixed environment.

  • Proven ability to translate technical requirements and analytical methods into customer-facing features and business outcomes.

  • Demonstrated experience with agile product development (e.g., backlog management, sprint planning, roadmap definition).

  • Experience partnering closely with engineering, data science/decision science, data engineering, and UX/design functions.

  • Ability to synthesize user research, usability testing, and market analysis to drive prioritization and product strategy.

  • Strong storytelling and executive communication skills with the ability to simplify complex analytics into clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Familiarity with statistical/ML concepts, forecasting and/or optimization, and data visualization; ability to query and analyze data (e.g., SQL).

  • Active commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and/or managing data products

  • Familiarity with data mesh and zero copy architecture (Snowflake / iceberg a plus)

  • Experience in media, parks & experiences, or related consumer domains.
  • Success launching enterprise-scale analytics or data products and integrating them into business processes.

  • Experience with agentic AI products, design patterns, and architecture

  • Background in revenue management, forecasting, or optimization applications.

  • Hands-on familiarity with Python or R and modern data platforms (e.g., cloud services, ML Ops).

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) and experimentation platforms.

  • Consulting experience and/or product operations partnership to scale adoption and sustainment.

Education

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Data Mining, Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, or other quantitative field, or equivalent experience.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $171,600 to $230,100 per year and Orlando, FL is $163,400 to $219,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
