Altamira is searching for a Data Scientist in Chantilly, VA.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall data science and data characterization technologies and will report to the on-site program manager.
  • Assess technology development and evaluate its operational usefulness and eventually demonstrate the technology capability through test and evaluation.
  • Results must be documented in writing and communicated both verbally and through multi-media methods to senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Defense intelligence all source analysis, Operations research / systems engineering and analysis Intelligence community databases and tools, non-Defense intelligence analysis, structured analytic techniques, and text exploitation and analytics
  • Expertise in advanced tools such as:  Mixed Mathematical Capabilities:  R Software w/extensive variety of modules (plugins - statistics, modeling, visualization), Text Analytics - IN-SPIRE, Jigsaw, Text/Data - Net Owl, Gate, and Mathematics Modeling - MATLAB.
  • A working knowledge with day-to-day data analysis tools are also necessary, Spreadsheet / Data - Excel s/Power plugins, Tableau, and Document Development-Word, MS Publisher.
  • An understanding and experience with visual and geospatial analysis is an added benefit for the senior data scientist:  Geospatial Analysis - OpenGeo, ArcGIS, GeoTime, Clavin, Visual Analytics - Vortek (Starlight), Visualization - Gephi, Word cloud tools, and Graphics Production - PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, HTML5.
  • 5-10 years of experience or an advanced degree MS / Ph.D. 
  • Three years of experience in the intelligence community.
  • TS/SCI with FSP clearance

The anticipated salary range for this position is $140,000 to $230,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, the scope of the position, relevant experience, education, certifications, internal equity, customer contractual requirements, security clearance requirements, and other legitimate business considerations.
