Marketing Department

The marketing team is responsible for Vantage's brand, identity and positioning in the global marketplace. The department also leads public and analyst relations to ensure constituents are educated on Vantage's products, services and markets. The team partners with sales, new site development, construction, finance, people and culture, public policy, internal communications, sustainability and other departments to grow market share, acquire and retain customers, expand into new geographies, understand customer sentiment and promote the company as an employer of choice.

Position Overview

This role can be based in our Sterling, VA or Denver, CO locations; in alignment with our flexible work policy (3 days onsite, 2 days remote).

The Senior Director, Marketing will lead and support the corporate marketing function within a shared services model, providing strategic direction, operational excellence and brand stewardship across regions. This role is responsible for developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that strengthen the corporate brand, support business growth objectives and deliver scalable marketing capabilities across the organization. Key focus areas include leading and supporting global initiatives, such as content development (e.g., the annual Sustainability Report), public policy communications, brand oversight and customer satisfaction surveys.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and collaborative leader with deep expertise in corporate communications, brand management, digital marketing, content strategy and cross-functional stakeholder engagement. This individual will help deliver centralized marketing services while ensuring alignment with company priorities, governance standards and measurable business outcomes.

Essential Job Functions

  • Partner with the Vice President of Global Marketing to develop and execute company-wide marketing strategies aligned with organizational goals and growth priorities.

  • Serve as an advisor and strategic partner to business leaders on brand positioning, messaging, reputation management and marketing effectiveness.

  • Establish scalable marketing frameworks, governance and best practices to improve consistency, speed and quality across regions.

  • Own priority initiatives as part of a global marketing shared-services model.

  • Partner with regions to deliver consistent, high-quality marketing support while balancing corporate standards with business-specific needs.

  • Drive service delivery excellence through standardized processes, intake management, prioritization and clear service-level expectations (SLAs).

  • Maintain and strengthen the organization's corporate brand identity, messaging architecture and voice across internal and external channels.

  • Ensure consistent storytelling and messaging across digital, social, print and event channels to reinforce Vantage's positioning.

  • Write original marketing copy for assets ranging from email campaigns to data sheets and public policy messaging decks; copyedit internal and agency content to ensure accuracy, consistency and quality.

  • Collaborate with the public policy team on global messaging and programs.

  • Oversee development and publication of the company's Sustainability Report.

  • Oversee market research, including customer satisfaction programs and insights reporting.

  • Support the corporate website and regional announcements, ensuring content remains current, on-brand and aligned to priorities.

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on outcomes to demonstrate the effectiveness of programs and investments.

  • Additional duties as assigned by Management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or equivalent experience required.

  • A strategic thinker who is results-driven and customer-focused; 10+ years of progressive experience, including at least five years in a leadership role.

  • Data center experience is strongly preferred but not required.

  • Proven success developing and executing integrated marketing strategies that deliver measurable business results.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.

  • Experience working in a matrixed global organization.

  • Demonstrated executive presence and confidence interacting with leaders across the organization.

  • Knowledge of Associated Press (AP) Style, Salesforce and HubSpot is highly desired.

  • Travel is expected to be 5 to 10%, generally traveling to other Vantage offices/data centers.

  • Travel may increase as business needs evolve.

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $200,000 - $225,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
