SAIC is looking for a Staff Operations Officer (SOO) to provide Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) services to one of our US Government customers. The Staff Operations Officer will interact with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between offices and possible other organizations. You will be a part of a large multi-year contract that supports the customer in systems engineering and integration across a broad portfolio of projects. You will come into a program that enjoys a close working relationship with the customer, bringing tradecraft expertise to be applied to technical projects solving real world problems, helping the customer execute real world missions that impact National Security on a daily basis. This close relationship, along with the program's longevity (20 years), ensures that as a new team member you will find a depth of support to grow and develop that is unmatched, all while making a difference - daily.

As a SOO you will support and provide operational guidance in a challenging, fast paced environment to help acquire intelligence. A successful SOO candidate would provide support for a wide range of operational and programmatic activities, think critically and communicate highly complex information accurately.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational guidance for on-going cases, ensuring any issues are identified to protect the client’s personnel and facilities
  • Identity pros/cons of possible operational activities
  • Provide administrative assistance to support senior leadership and project development
  • Provide briefings on cases to senior officials and identifying potential issues

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 14 years of experience although commensurate experience can be substituted for the degree
  • Must hold a current TS/SCI with Polygraph required in order to be considered
  • 5 or more years of experience as a Staff Operations Officer
  • Experience with cable writing and communicating with field offices
  • Ability to work well with teams or individually with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment while paying attention to detail
  • Domestic and/or field operational experience
  • Ability to exercise sound operational judgement
  • Strong written and oral communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
