Description:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform analyses on process samples, finished product samples and various non-routine samples.

· Operate basic lab equipment including balances, micropipettes, burettes, density meters, and pH meters.

· Operate and troubleshoot intermediate and advanced instruments including UV/Vis spectrophotometer, auto-titrator, GC, ICP, and TOC analyzer.

· Enter test results into the laboratory information management system.

· Make accept or reject decisions on finished product based on sample results to ensure on-spec product to customers.

· Interact with other departments to communicate test results, including notifying appropriate people when sample results fall outside of acceptance limits.

· Take personal responsibility for complying with safety policies and procedures, including following guidelines and wearing appropriate PPE.

· Prep reagents and supplies, label bottles, inventory and order supplies, and general housekeeping.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES


· Maintain laboratory in clean and safe condition at all times.

· Calibrate lab equipment according to calibration schedule.

· Deliver timely feedback to the operations department, engineers, and the lab manager.

· Support 24/7 manufacturing operation by working shift work and overtime. This may include graveyard, swing shift, or a rotating shift schedule.

· Highly motivated, looking/asking for additional tasks when duties are completed.

Requirements:

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Science related field and a minimum of 1 year of lab work experience.
  • OR
  • Associate's degree in Chemistry or Science related field and a minimum of 2 years lab work experience.

EXPERIENCE

· Lab experience in the chemical industry is preferred.

· Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.

· Communicating effectively verbally and electronically (text, email).

Working shift work and overtime, including graveyard, swing shift, or a rotating shift schedule.

· Inputting and reviewing data with minimal error. Attention to detail is a must.

· Analyzing data and making reporting decisions based on pre-established specification parameters.

· Troubleshooting and performing minor maintenance on laboratory equipment and instruments.

· Working as a team member as well as independently.
